Striker Fabio Borini says he remains hopeful of resurrecting his Liverpool career, having starting well for Sunderland. The 22 - year - old Italian joined the Reds from Roma for £10 m in the summer of 2012 but his first campaign at Anfield was disrupted by injury . And, having joined Sunderland on loan for the 2013/14 season , he bagged his first goal for the Black Cats in dramatic style on Sunday, coming off the bench to score the winner against local rivals Newcastle. But he told Italian radio station Rete Sport: “ I remain a Liverpool player. I ’ m on loan because there wasn’ t space for me and , after a year of injuries , I needed to get my confidence back , to play some games . “But my roots are still there. There has been a squad revolution there, but the worst thing for me was getting injured when I was actually playing at the start of last season . ” ( Sky Sports). #Yasho
