Striker light: Mourinho plans surgical changes up front Furious Jose Mourinho has told his misfiring strikers he is ready to sell them all this summer. Mourinho waved the white flag on his Chelsea teams title tilt after Saturdays shock defeat at Crystal Palace. While the Blues boss has no option but to stick with Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and the currently crocked Samuel Etoo until May, he has now made it clear they have bleak Stamford Bridge futures. That trio have scored just 15 Premier League goals between them - in stark contrast to the 48 (before Sunday) racked up by Luiz Suarez and Daniel Sturridge for Liverpool or the 34 claimed by Manchester Citys front trio of Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko. Torres goals at Southampton and Hull, both in January, are the only away strikes to the name of the Chelsea threesome - a pitiful return. And Mourinho, who will start Torres at Paris St-Germain on Wednesday in the Champions League quarter-finals with Etoo sidelined, promised to get out the knife for surgical transfer procedures this summer. The Special One said: Every match matters. But THESE matches, when you have to win, obviously they matter. I dont think its the moment to speak about next season and the market, but its clear to everybody that Chelsea next year wants to bring a striker. That is clear. Its also clear we want to improve our players. Atletico Madrids Diego Costa is the prime target, with the Blues reluctant to pay over the odds for Monacos Radamel Falcao or Edinson Cavani of PSG, although Bayern Munichs Mario Mandzukic is also on the list. Mourinho added: Whats the future for the [current Chelsea] strikers? The ones that are staying are competing with the striker we are bringing. And normally at the end of the season, players that are not playing a lot or players who are not happy and prefer a change, that is also part of the market. We want to improve the team and the players and make some surgical movements in the transfer window.
