Strikes by advocates on 17 th Dec. 2014. The fact is that a Public Interest Litigation was filed asking for no condolence meetings should be held in Courts before court hours are over. It is said that (I do not know Exact position) show cause notices were issued to respondents. The High Court Bar associations at Jabalpur, Indore and Gwalior gave a call for strike. At Indore at about 09-40 the call was given. By that time I had gone to court room No.3 on 1st flour to attend my case before DB. I was in my robe. I could smell as in the premises as in the morning I had given comment on FB that no such strike call should be given as we advocates and judges are trusties of clients and there was nothing special happened against advocates. The advocates are at liberty to contest the said petition. When I went to attend court Room 3 on the first floor there was nothing officially mentioned on the notice board about call for strike. One important thing is this that My Self and Mrs. Namjoshi who is a former judge of the M.P. High court had about 04 months ago already given in writing to the concerning authorities that no condolence meetings should be held on our death and there should be no suspension of work. If in general (not ours) death reference is to be made it can be made after court work at 4.30 over but why suspension of work? We are answerable to the public for the salaries which we take or fees which we charge. It is betraying the public. It is said that advocates are on strike from 17th till 20 after which there will be winter vacation. On the day of so called strike in the High court that is on 17th instant the so called stalwarts were exposed by acting irrationally.
