Student Announcements (posted for parent convenience): STUDENTS: The Word of the Week is contraction which is a reduction in size, shrinking in size; a shortened form of a word or phrase, such as can’t for cannot. STUDENTS: As soon as you get to school in the morning, 5th graders are to report to the 5th grade hall and ALL 6th and 7th graders are to go directly to the cafeteria to eat or the gym. You may not hang out in the hallway until the bell rings. You may not go to your locker on the way to the gym. As soon as you enter the building, go to your assigned gathering spot. If you choose to ignore or disobey this procedure, your name will be sent to the office for discipline. STUDENTS: PTO is sponsoring a dance for all 6th and 7th graders on February 7 from 6-8 pm. If you are referred to the office for misbehavior you will not be allowed to go to the dance. This begins immediately, so be on your best behavior! STUDENTS: Friday morning we will be selling the remainder of the PTO shirts in the front lobby. You MUST have your money to purchase a shirt. Short sleeved t-shirts will be sold for $10.00. Long sleeved shirts will be sold for $15.00. NO HOODIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR SALE. STUDENTS: There are flyers in the office for those who would like to tryout for the 8th grade cheer and dance teams. Parent meetings are January 30th and February 3rd. STUDENTS: Remember to get your yearbook pre-ordered by January 29th. If you do not pre-order either online or by bringing your form back to school there may NOT be enough extras ordered for you to have a yearbook at the end of the year. Information for ordering online can be found on the CSMS Facebook page. STUDENTS: Mark your calendar for a night of fun! CSMS Math Carnival is coming to town. A night of games, probability, technology, prizes, and snacks. Come and play some of your favorite games such as Fraction Bingo, Reflex Race-Off, Spin the Big Wheel, Blackjack Attack, Integer War, and even win in the Cakewalk Extravaganza! Come have a blast as you study mathematics in gaming and how fun it is to study the Common Core Math Standards. There is something for everyone!! Come out on January 23rd from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. to the CSMS Cafeteria to participate in this event. All parents and students of CSMS are invited to attend. STUDENTS: There WILL be quiz bowl practice TODAY. No practice Friday. STUDENTS: The CSMS 7th Grade Quiz Bowl Team will be traveling to Russellville, AR for a quiz bowl tournament this Saturday, January 18, 2014. We will board the bus at Conway Junior High at 8:00 a.m. at the corner of Mitchell and Prince Streets. Bring money for lunch or a sack lunch.
