Student leaders at Castlemaine Secondary College worked with Jump Up Facilitator Helena Read throughout their project week to design a school campus action challenge. Their campus outcome was to stock Thank you water in the school canteen, each bottle of water sold will directly contribute to one person receiving access to safe drinking water. Students launched their Thank you project at the Castlemaine Market Building on 16 December 2014. Proposed student leadership projects for 2015 include: HELPS, a program that raises awareness of child labour in the manufacture of sporting equipment and which will raise funds to donate fair trade sporting equipment to the schools partner programs in Timor Leste. Palm oil awareness campaign, exposing the impact of the use of Palm oil and locally available products that include Palm oil. Indigenous rights, a program to raise awareness of the current indigenous rights issues in Australia, including deaths in custody and the land rights/alluvial title movement.
