Students at Lewis and Clark Middle School collected excess change - TopicsExpress

Students at Lewis and Clark Middle School collected excess change for a week and raised $1,438.13 for Aqua-Africa - a nonprofit organization that drills wells in Sudan to help provide clean water for the Sudanese. Buey Ray Tut, the co-founder of Aqua-Africa, said the funds would help provide water for approximately 1,000 residents. Students decided to raise funds for the organization after reading A Long Walk to Water by author Linda Sue Park. The book chronicles the story of two Sudanese eleven-year-olds, Nya and Salva, who endure numerous hardships, but manage to survive the ravages of war. A HUGE thanks to the students and staff at Lewis & Clark Middle School for their tremendous effort in raising money for such a great cause. #OPSProud
