Students from the Pioneer School took a trip downtown yesterday - TopicsExpress

Students from the Pioneer School took a trip downtown yesterday to visit the Potter’s House to try their hand at creating pottery as part of Pioneer’s new pARTner program. The day started with a tour of the studio and an explanation of various processes used to create different types of pottery. After the tour, the kids grabbed a hunk of clay and started creating. First, they worked on trays that will be displayed at the art exhibition in March. Next, students created Christmas tree ornaments they will use to help decorate their tree at home. Everyone will finish their pieces during the second trip to the studio, slated for next week. Thanks to Pastor Rick Terry for treating the students to this terrific experience! -The Potters House is a Faith-based pottery studio where volunteers mentor community members experiencing troubles and hardships in their life, teaching them to create pottery – Check them out online at pottershousechillicothe.org/ or drop by the studio, located at 96 N. Paint St., Chillicothe, Ohio.
