Studies on the geodynamo indicate a weakened magnetic shield,(science is not sure why, but they know its been weakening...thus the impressive lightning shows) .....the sun let out an x class flare yesterday..its not really that big of an x flare...but with the weakened sheild theres no definite way to be sure what it will do..other than to experience it...so we will be getting it soon, hard to tell exactly how soon..since not all flares travel at the same speed.(solar wind and stuff)..but it shouldnt take more than a day or two....what is for sure is that the flare was the largest in a long time..that was directed toward the earth with our weakened sheild.....at the very least we will see some impressive aurora borealis a.k.a. northern lights...it is unlikely to be another carrington event..where an earth facing x flare fried a buncha things on earth back in the day.....anyway.. if you like northern lights dancing in the sky....keep an eye out...
