Studying out controversial topics is always faith building to me!! 😃 Topic: Does God change his mind? Contradicting Scriptures: Malachi 3:6, 1 Samuel 15:29, Numbers 23:19-20 VS. Exodus 32:11-14 A lot of people would look at these scriptures as one contradicting the other, however the issue at hand is actually the lack of knowledge on phenomenological language. This is actually the philosophical idea, based off the Free Dictionary, that reality consists of objects and events as they are perceived or understood in human consciousness and not of anything independent of human consciousness. For example, if you were facing another person face-to-face and you told that person to point to their right. Its the opposite of your right, correct? You both have a right hand BUT the way you perceive it is different. When the bible says that God changed his mind (also translated to relent or repent) we have to understand that its from a perception thats independent of human consciousness. We know that God nor Jesus never sinned, so the word repent has to be perceived differently than the way humans understand it to be. If Moses changed Gods mind then thats proving that Moses had a better plan than God and knows more than God. Thats bizarre to even think about! We know of Gods omniscience, that he knows all things. In Exodus 32:11-14, God already knew that the Israelites would repent, because he knows all things. He knew that he would show grace to them so technically his mind was already set. He used Moses as an example of what would come thousands of years from then, when Jesus would come to earth and intercede for us! If you look at any excerpt in the bible that talks about God changing his mind when initially threatening to punish his people it always resulted in repentance. In addition, why would God listen to Moses when he just sinned by disobeying him? God would have saved his people whether Moses interceded or not, he had to fulfill his promise that he will not punish but show grace to sinners who repent and turn from their ways. #QuietTime #Encouraged
