Subject: Audition for the YMCA PIPA Dance Team & Congrats to our National Award winning competitive teams!!! Dance Team Auditions: Come audition for one of our dynamic and talented competitive dance teams. We have teams for many levels of dance from beginner-advanced. We are also the only competitive dance program that offers scholarships and financial assistance so that EVERY child has a chance to compete and to do something that they love, without cost being a hardship. Our auditions are held in a stress-free environment. Dancers and not required to come up with their own dance. All material is taught to them. To get dancers comfortable with the audition process, we offer and audition clinic to go over the requirements that we will be looking for audition day. Pre Audition Clinic 1: Who needs to come? Dancers working on perfecting: -basic leaps -beginner level dancers -getting 1 or 2 splits -getting a single or double pirouette on both sides -getting or perfecting 1 heel stretch -kicks -flexibility -learning choreography quickly and remembering Cost? $10 (it will print on your bill as a "July Technique Drop-In Fee" ONLY PAY THE DAY OF When? Wednesday, July 10th 6-7:30pm Pre Audition Clinic 2: Who needs to come? Dancers working on perfecting: -switch leaps -getting 3 splits (already has 2) -getting a double pirouette on both sides and already has a double pirouette -needle on both legs (already has one) -illusions on both sides without hands (already has one) -tilts on both sides (already has one) -flexibility -axle jumps from pirouette -calypso leap -learning choreography quickly and remembering Cost? $10 (it will print on your bill as a "July Technique Drop-In Fee" ONLY PAY THE DAY OF When? Thursday, July 11th 6-7:30pm We will hold auditions for all levels of our Jazz/ Lyrical Competitive Program as well as our Competitive Hip Hop Production Team, for our 2013-14 season on Tuesday July 16th & Wednesday July 17th. Tuesday, July 16th Competitive Level Hip Hop Production Team Cost: $10 ONLY PAY THE DAY OF ages 5-8 5:45-6:45pm ages 9-11 6:30-7:30pm ages 12 & up 7:30-8:15pm (those who are under 12 but have competed a solo can use to audition at the 12 & up time slot if they choose) Wednesday, July 17th Competitive Jazz and Performance Level Jazz/ Lyrical Cost: $10 ONLY PAY THE DAY OF 5:45-7:00pm Mini Team Level Team: (dancers 5-8 that have or have not had competition experience, judges and staff will decide if dancers will be on the competitive level or performance level and or Mini or Junior level) 6:45-8:00pm Junior/ Intermediate/ Senior Level Performance Team: dancers ages 8 and up 7:45-9:00pm Junior/ Senior Level Competitive Team: dancers ages 8 and up who meet 80% of the Competitive level audition requirements for the Junior/ Senior Level Competitive Team HIP HOP & JAZZ Dress Code: ALL HIP HOP & DANCERS ARE Required to wear: black or purple booty shorts with and black cami or black leotard. NO T-shirts or other colored dance wear will be allowed during this time. As well, all dancers will need to bring their jazz dance shoes. If your dancer does NOT have jazz shoes, that is fine, the can dance barefoot. PAWS should NOT be worn . For Hip Hop dancers should wear sneakers. HAIR: ALL hair MUST be pulled back.
