Subject: NYS DEC Bioremediation Survey The New York State - TopicsExpress

Subject: NYS DEC Bioremediation Survey The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is interested in how they can help communities that want to address environmental contamination in their own neighborhoods through community-based bioremediation: low-intensity, natural methods to clean up or prevent exposure to contaminants in the soil. NYSDEC often hears from community groups who are concerned about the quality of urban soils, and are interested in bioremediation as a potential "do-it-yourself" strategy to create safer and healthier places for gardens, play areas or other recreational use. We are sending this survey to community groups, environmental justice organizations, and individuals that we believe may be interested in community-based bioremediation. The purpose of the survey is to help NYSDEC gain an understanding of the level of public interest and prior knowledge in bioremediation. We also aim to identify common goals, questions and challenges in order to best develop guidance and resources for the public. surveymonkey/s/B7WPW5P Please feel free to use any of the blank spaces within the survey to provide additional input. Also, please feel free to forward this survey link to others that you believe may be interested. We look forward to hearing from you and greatly appreciate your response!
