Subject Peace from Christ | Week of September 23rd Message From the sermon series: The goal of being Christian Peace from Christ Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” Luke 24:36 Between His resurrection and ascension, Jesus encountered many people in various ways. Each such encounter was unique because He revealed Himself in a different way and brought peace and certainty. Fear is an emotion that can distract us from acknowledging Christ’s presence in our lives. If we don’t acknowledge His presence, we cannot receive the peace of Christ. This is exemplified in John 20:19-20 when Jesus encountered the disciples after His resurrection. Uncertainty is another such emotion that can prevent peace. The two men on the way to Emmaus were uncertain about the recent events that had transpired and what that meant for the future. Once their eyes were opened, Luke 24:31-36, Christ’s presence replaced their uncertainty with security as He greeted them with His peace. We don’t accept the peace of Christ because we’re clinging to other emotions. What do you need to let go of to fully embrace the peace of Christ?
