Mareeba Stock and Rural Crime Investigation (SARCIS) officers are appealing for public assistance to locate stolen irrigation equipment. On the night of Monday July 22, thieves entered two neighbouring farms in the Mareeba area and stole 49 two inch ball valves (taps), 1 three inch ball valve (tap) and 2 four inch gate valves (taps), a neighbouring property was also entered and a NETAFIM air release valve and associated fittings (pictured) were stolen. All items were removed from the paddocks, either by cutting or unscrewing from the irrigation system A vehicle was seen in the immediate vicinity to the thefts on the evening of July 21. Police believe the occupants may be able to assist with their investigation.
