Submitted by Greg Torkelson: Sheriff: "Borrego Springs endured a heavy rain storm on Sunday, 25 August 2013. This storm originated from the south, skirting the mountains west of Borrego Springs as it traveled to the north. Borrego Springs received several inches of rain from this storm causing flooding in the De Anza community located on the north side of Borrego Springs. Several houses in this community sustained flood damage. Additionally, the roadways entering Borrego Springs remain closed because of flooding and rock slides. These roadways include Montezuma Valley Rd (S-22) from Ranchita to Borrego Springs and Highway 78 at Scissors Crossing, which is east of San Felipe Rd (S-2). These roadways will remain closed until sometime late Monday morning." - Shared by Sharmin
