Successful visit to my surgeon today. He drained a large seroma - TopicsExpress

Successful visit to my surgeon today. He drained a large seroma (collection of fluid) that was around my surgical incision and under my arm on my left side where my cancerous tumor was removed on 1/25/2013. I had been experiencing tremendous pain and trouble moving my arm on that side. Praying when the local anesthetic wears off the pain will be gone. I am going to have surgery at some point in the few months to remove excess tissue that was left in case I decided to have reconstruction. I have decided - at age 62 with all my other health issues - NOT to do reconstruction. The excess tissue under my left arm is contributing to the lack of adequate fluid flow through my left side and into my left arm. So, I will have it removed along with tissue on the right side. My surgeon recommended a plastic surgeon do that, so now I have to make an appointment to see the plastic surgeon. I thank God for an easy procedure today and for my wonderful doctor who is the best!!
