Such a powerful speech. Forget her celebrity - Ellen Page is a young person with a clear, articulate, motivated and passionate voice. Her coming out isnt the only brave thing, in my mind. What is especially brave is that she dares to live all facets of her life authentically, so that other young people can foster change in our global society, which wears ridicule, bigotry, sarcasm and cruelty as a badge of honour. Look no further than reality TV shows, mass media journalism and social media, for evidence. As the Dalai Lama said: Be the change you want in the world. Love and kindness through action is the most potent way to change the world.
