Such a shame that at the end of such a cheerful and a promising week here in New Zealand where Tongans and non-Tongans alike join together to celebrate the beauty of the Tongan Language and ultimately the beauty of the Tongan culture, we have New Zealand - Tongans being beaten and discriminated against in Tonga. Maybe Tonga should take heed to what NZ Tongans are doing here and re-evaluate who they are and what they really represent. In my opinion the only reason you ( and I am only referring to the very few people in Tonga who do act so cowardly) will constantly attack a innocent minority( who, through all the difficulties of remaining loyal to ones identity in a foreign country, but yet still return to their homeland to pay their respect) is because you dont know who you are! May I remind you that we are the Otu motu anga Ofa for a reason. We are a friendly and loving nation by nature. Our whole tauhi va and anga fktokilalo aspects of our cultures set us apart from other nationalities in the world. It was this very aspect that Queen Salotes willingness to ride in the rain at Queen Elizabeths coronation on 2 June 1953 that won the hearts of thousands of Englishmen and people around world. God made us who we are and gave us the gift to be Tongan. It is not something that any group of people has control over and decide on who is more Tongan than the other. Unless you have the ability to make man and give him life than you have no right to sio lalo to us from muli. When Tupou I said ko e Otua mo Tonga ko hoku tofia - and gave Tonga to God - we all shared in that! God and Tonga is all of our inheritance! ( and not just those who live in Tonga) I know that this is long but the barbaric, diabolical, ghastly, immoral and down right pathetic behavior and treatment of kakai Tonga mei muli has to stop!
