Such a tough year. Two funerals today for two young friends have us with heavy hearts so Ill be filling in for my nephew Scott Wilburn tonight, running his open mic Saturday @ River Hill Grill 9-1ish. I havent posted or even spent much time on facebook cuz I dont want to say how sad I am. My mothers passing was not unexpected and yet still sudden. I thought we would have the rest of this year or more. Legends in music and guys I got to meet and even jam with have gone too soon.(R.I.P. Bobby Keys, Ian McClagan, John Fry) and I just found out tonight my cousin, Jack Phenicie passed away today. Jackie was in the first band (The Victorymen) to have a big influence on me when I was very little. Their bassist was my Sunday school teacher and Jackie was the best singer. Id watch them onstage and want to join them. My cousins grew up in Calverton with me and my family and it was really like having 3 more brothers and 2 more sisters. There is no public service for Jackie ..just family. I love you my brother and well all be together again in heaven.
