Suddenly... we had run our course... LOKEY was out. (drop mic --- *) So strange. The last song we EVER wrote after years of aggression, from start to finish, was this suuuuuper slow, oddly truthful tune about how music had changed our lives forever. The lyrics express my need to apologize to fans, to my band members, to my own self and most importantly to MUSIC.. itself.. for not being able to keep a grip. I love music. More than any of you know. Especially my friends and colleagues here in Texas. Do you know how many nationally signed bands I have CDs of...? Maybe 6... MAYBE. Do you know how many locally unsigned bands I have AND LISTEN TO? ... Every damn one that I could get my hands on. No matter the genre. Literally hundreds. Done on a 4 track. Roughly and half-heartedly sung. (which makes it mean sooo much more to me than going to a studio..) The last Lokey song... Because all of you were and are My Whole Universe...
