Sue Kennedy says: HI, i just need to vent and maybe some advice. My grand daughter is 11 yrs old i have had custody of her from 4 months old, she is developmentally delayed and autistic and has behaviors like pinching scratching and pulling hair, she also hurts herself when really frustrated, shell bite her hand, hit her head with her fist and bang her head on the wall. she started a new school in september because we moved, since starting the new school, she has declined atleast 50%. i called for an impartial hearing to try to have her placed in a very good residential school, where i can still have contact and take her home on weekends if i want to and still have a say in her care. anyway i found out at the hearing that the new school she started in sept. has physically restrained her 19 times and never told me or asked my permission or involved me in anyway. i am devastated, angry and frustrated. im afraid to send her to school, but i know i have to, i cant get the pictures out of my head about the restraints, my insides are shaking, i cant sleep. i have 2 more days of hearings at the end of the month and then hopefully i can get her out of there, but these people at the school have lied so many times, trying to say i mess with her medication, i dont answer my phone and i dont try to go to meetings, i dont care what they say about me my lawyer told me they would try to do this, but they broke the law and continue doing this, i want people to know so they dont put their children in this school. they say they have this new autism program that they just implemented this year and are trying to get students from other schools to come there. thanks for letting me vent
