Suffering and Hope-The Redemption of Our Bodies For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.(Romans 8:18) Yes,we all experience this suffering,in some fashion and degree. It can be physically, mentally, emotionally and maybe many other ways that only experience can describe it and sometimes words cant describe it.Sometimes its very visible and sometimes only the inner self can relate to it.But its real and I reckon as long as we are in these bodies,in this present world, were going to have it. We are like a sparrow in a cage.We are a New Creation a Heavenly Being caged in an old creation and an earthly tenthouse as Paul calls it in (2 Corinthians 5:1). Were out of place, were not at home and were experiencing things this new creation is not at home with and never will be.Our hope isnt in this old creation, this birdcage. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.(Romans 8:22-23) Yes we groan within ourselves even we who have the Spirit of God indwelling us as we face from day to day the results of living in a fallen world.A new creation of God but still subject to the fallen state of the old creation.Sometimes we are just overwhelmed with the pain endured by living in this fallen state. BUT all that can change in a moment,in a twinkling of an eye. This heavenly being will be uncaged and that glory will be revealed. The redemption of our bodies. Our blessed hope. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.(Philippians 3:20-21) We are citizens of another world. That should explain why we are so dissatisfied with the governments of this world and the actions they take. Most of the time they are directly against everything we believe and we feel so helpless in explaining that to a world that is bent on destroying itself.Well never be satisfied with what this world does and well never feel perfect security and hope and peace in what it provides. We shouldnt even be expecting an environment here that would satisfy this new person we have become in Christ. Once were saved and are children of God,a hunger and a desire was placed in us that this world just cant satisfy. We are stuck in a lowly body with a new creation within it,that is longing for its unveiling. That is why we are looking for the SAVIOR to come,to redeem this body,so this new creation can be revealed.
