Suffering when you are not at fault stinks... but Christians - TopicsExpress

Suffering when you are not at fault stinks... but Christians believe that such suffering can be a means for transforming that which is evil or wrong into a blessing for good... It says in 1st Peter 3: 13-17 -- 13 If with heart and soul youre doing good, do you think you can be stopped? 14 Even if you suffer for it, youre still better off. Dont give the opposition a second thought. 15 Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master. Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why youre living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy. 16 Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. Theyll end up realizing that theyre the ones who need a bath. 17 Its better to suffer for doing good, if thats what God wants, than to be punished for doing bad. (The Message translation) Its difficult to accept suffering when we dont deserve it... or when were trying hard to do some good. But according to the Bible, you are blessed for taking the more difficult path in the face of opposition. And you have to try it to know exactly what this means...
