Suicide is a sefish act? People who say that suicide is selfish always reference the survivors. Its selfish to leave children, spouses and other family members behind, so they say. Theyre not thinking about the survivors, or so they would have us believe. What they dont know is that those very loved ones are the reason many people hang on for just one more day. They do think about the survivors, probably up until the very last moment in many cases. But the soul-crushing depression that envelopes them leaves them feeling like there is no alternative. Like the only way to get out is to opt out. And that is a devastating thought to endure. I went to this dark place in my mind. I stared at the loaded gun......I wasnt thinking about anything other than making the pain stop as I was to the point I believed that taking my own life was the only way to do it. This is just my experience......I was one of the lucky ones who made it out. No need to leave a comment.........
