Summer Party: Saturday, Aug. 3 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Set up will be 10:30 a.m./Eats at 11:30 a.m.) The Shartle Family Summer Picnic will be held at the Midway Church of the Brethren, 13 Evergreen Road, just off the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Evergreen Road, Lebanon. This is the same location that we’ve held the summer picnic in the past. NOTE: Midway Church policy prohibits pets in the picnic area. We will continue to have kids games (we need volunteers to organize and run these, and Barb Luciani said she will help coordinate) and conduct a Cake Walk (we will need donations of cakes). We will need to fund hall rental ($90), kids gifts and paper products. Donations (made to “Shartle Family Fund”) can be mailed to: Jerry Feaser, 1929 Deer Path Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED: hotdogs, bar-b-que and paper products (plates, bowls, cups, plastic-ware and napkins). WHAT TO BRING: An e-mail will follow later this week with the "Sign-Up Genius" for stuff that is needed, however, here are the things we generally need: hamburger bar-b-que; hotdog and hamburger rolls; salads; ice and drinks (case of water or gallon jugs of ice tea, lemonade or orange drink); desserts; cheese/baloney/crackers platters; chips/pretzels; fruit/veggie trays; red beet eggs; deviled eggs; and pickles/olives. GAMES FOR KIDS: We are looking for a few volunteers to organize and run a few games for the kids. We will provide a piñata and prizes for the games.
