Summer Success Program (SSP) 2014--Questions and Answers The Summer Success Program provides an opportunity for students to complete a remedial course with no tuition cost. The Summer Success Program is funded by the CUNY Office of Academic Affairs as part o the Coordinated Undergraduate Education Initiative. When will Summer Success Take Place? -From June 30 to July 31st for English, ESL, Reading, and Math 01 -From June 30 to Aug 7 for Math 05 and Math 06 -All Summer Success classes will meet for four days per week for 2.5 hours to 4 hours each day, depending on the class Who is eligible for Summer Success? -Students who entered BCC as freshmen or transfer in Fall 2013 or Spring 2014 -Readmit Students for Fall 2014 who have earned 12 credits or less are also eligible -Students with 40+ credits who have not passed Math 05 will be notified through BCC email as to registration procedures Which courses will be offered? -Remedial courses in English, ESL, Reading and Math -Regular college classes are not part of Summer Success -Students can only take one Summer Success course What time will Summer Success Classes be offered? -Mornings, afternoons, and evenings. We offer a flexible schedule but there will be no weekend sessions. How will I know which sections are part of the Summer Success Program? -SSP courses will be have a 95__ or 97__ code. Students taking a summer college course starting with digits other than 95__ or 97__ will be expected to pay tuition for the course. Can students participate in the Summer Success Program and take other summer courses outside of the program? -Yes, but summer courses outside the program will have tuition costs. Students are asked to meet with an academic adviser before taking two summer courses. How do students register for the Summer Success Program? -Counselors, advisers, and faculty will advise students for SSP. Students can then register for SSP classes after being advised. There are no waiting lists. What do I do if I have questions? -Students can address questions to their academic advisers
