Summers County Track Teams Headed to Charleston Girls Win Regional Championship / Boys Finish as Regional Runner-up Donations for State Track Meet Expenses Are Needed & Appreciated This past Thursday May 15th the boys and girls track teams competed in the WV AA Region III track meet at Laidley Field in Charleston, WV. The girls team came out of the meet as the 2014 WV AA Region III champions. The boys team came out of the meet as the 2014 WV AA Region III runners up. Next Saturday May 24th 19 athletes from the Summers County High School boys and girls track teams will have an opportunity to compete at the WV AA State Track Meet at Laidley Field in Charleston, WV. For the Girls WV AA Region III Champions Brandy Morrison will be competing in the 100m dash, 200m dash, 300m hurdles, and 4x100m relay. Emily Smith will be competing in the 100m hurdles where she will be defending her state title. Emily will also be competing in the long jump, 200m dash, and 4x100m relay. Gracie Smith will be competing in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 800m, and 4x400m relay. Nayla Bond will be competing in the 400m dash and 4x400m relay. Cameron Miller will be competing in the 4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay. Holley Williams will be competing in the 4x400m relay. Brooke Jackson will be competing in the 4x100m relay. Jordan Sigman will be competing in the shot put and discus. For the Boys WV AA Region III Runners Up Isaiah Brown will be competing in the 100m dash. Tre Mann will be competing in the 100m dash and 200m dash. Dacota Thomas will be competing in the 110m hurdles, 300 hurdles, and the shuttle hurdles relay. Austin Holland will be competing in the 300 hurdles and shuttle hurdle relay. Kevin Webster will be competing in the shuttle hurdle relay. Nick Adkins will be competing in the shuttle hurdle relay. Brandon Ritter, Levi Mills, Jacob Ratliff, and Jordan Huffman will be competing in the 4x800m relay. Allen Brown will be competing in the shot put and discus. The Summers County High School Boys and Girls Track Teams would also like to thank everybody that contributed to their program this past weekend during their car wash. Next weekend these athletes will need additional funds to help cover costs for travel, hotel stay, and food. Any additional donations would be greatly appreciated.
