Sunday 19th October Las Palmas: English Club, 6pm DEBATE TOPIC FOR THIS WEEK Courage In ancient times, courage was valued more than any other trait, especially for men. Is courage still important today, even if we express it in very different ways? (For example, its not cool anymore to slay your enemies.) Does courage, today, mean controlling your fears, as many spiritual people say? Or is it still necessary to take very bold actions (but not violent actions), risking everything except your life, in order to succeed in this world? Who has impressed you, historically or recently, with his or her courage? Do you have a story from your own life which required great courage on your part? Maybe one of your friends demonstrated amazing courage? What does courage mean in 2014? How many people have it? Medium/High level of spoken English is required. We only talk in English during the activities.
