Sunday August 24th, India: 9:30 PM, US: 9 AM PT, 12 PM ET Listen at nrisamay/live The Union ministry of health and family welfare led by Dr Harsha Vardan, has removed Sanjiv Chaturvedi from the post of chief vigilance officer of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Chaturvedi, a 2002 batch Haryana cadre Indian Forest Service officer, was appointed as the AIIMS CVO in June 2012 with fixed tenure of four years. Sanjiv Chaturvedi, known as the whistle-blower, scam buster, has been removed as the CVO of AIIMS. In his term, he has been known for unearthing several scams, and for his integrity. Chaturvedi has been transferred 12 times in five years for exposing corruption in the Haryana government. The CVO has completed only a little over two years of his four-year tenure. During these two years, the officer has been ranked ‘outstanding’ by the same ministry – the best a central service officer can get. He was appointed on July 7, 2012 Sanjiv was advised not to speak to media, so his council, Pankaj Singh speaks on his behalf. We will also joined by other whistleblowers to talk about this issue.
