Sunday, December 28th. Weve had Rain now for 5 weeks. Weve probably worked with him more these past few days, over Christmas break, than we have all the other days combined. Today he let us know he was ready for a break. When we arrived early to load up our riding horses (hitting the trails at Union Mills) Rainy really didnt want any contact with us. He put up with me brushing him but actually reverted back to walking away from me. Upon our return we thought wed just halter him right up and work on trailer loading. Wrong!! It took some doing to be able to put the halter on. Patience. After finally haltering Rain it was smooth sailing. I lead him out of the paddock and we began work on trailer loading. We accomplished this goal in no time. It probably took 8 minutes tops from first asking to having him walk right on. Such a good boy. So trusting and willing to please. We are going to give him a couple days off to process all he has learned in the past 6 days.
