Sunday July 28 at approximately at 12:30pm a group of 100 plus youth that were engaged in a peaceful assembly in front of the San Ysidro port of entry were attacked and tackled down by both San Diego Police and California Border Patrol Agents, in a cowardly and unprofessional act to disperse the crowd. On site we had a couple of immigration attorneys that witnessed the outrageous act of violence and documented everything that occurred and even though there were media cameras there covering the story these law enforcement agents dragged and barricaded all the youth. Tomorrow the San Diego Dream Team will be holding a press conference at 1173 Front Street, San Diego, CA 92108 to denounce these acts of violence on our community and also demand and urge our community members to call the office of Governor Brown demanding that police and ICE collaboration stop in CA. We will also be asking for community members to call our Congress representatives and let them know of what happened today in San Ysidro and demand for no further militarization of the border and that we stop the deportations now, while congress continues to debate immigration reform. We ask that you please join us tomorrow, Monday July 29, 2013 at 10am at 1173 Front Street. In Solidarity, San Diego Dream Team
