Sunday November 9th, 2016 Seekers Sunday school Class Today in class was not about lessons, what was prepared, or anything of the sort. There is a time every now and again when class direction is tilted in such a way that is bigger than any of us. All the preparation, studying, or energy cannot alter it. Opinions, food for thought, or wishful thinking cannot take its place. The beautiful thing about classes such as today is it is all about getting out of the way and allowing God to work. Today was all about Ron Sweet, Angie and family at this difficult time in the loss of 31 year old Chris Sweet. There were no fancy words said, or some type of great theological discussion taking place to try to figure this thing called life out. It was just a simple time of going around the room in prayer for those who felt aspired to as well as a time for Ron and Angie to share if they felt the need to. it was an honest effort by The Seekers to somehow in some small , human way to comfort and console at this time of loss. To the Sweet family please know that the Seekers as well as The Ashland Avenue Baptist Church are praying for you and stand with you at this difficult time. For those we know who have / had addictions may we exercise diligence and additional patience because they are trapped in a scenario they do not know how to escape. May we learn to be difference makers. B-Often times the things we chase after other than God can take over your life and become more overwhelming and difficult than the chase itself. C-Life itself is very fragile, seize the moment. D-It is essential to prioritize the things in life. E-It is essential to be purposeful with our thankfulness. F- Adam & Eve walked with the very God of creation and could not do it without falling, What in this world makes us think we can??
