Sunday Update Yet another afternoon of storms but all patrons managed to stay dry thankfully. Thanks to our cooks and volunteers who served up lasagne, fried rice, sweet n sour turkey (which was a hit) a selection of salads, Black Forest trifle, tiramisu, cupcakes and sweet breads. Rob popped down to the shops for some ice blocks that went down a treat. Today we received another huge donation from The Church of Latter Day Saints. These guys are just amazing with huge hearts. They always seem to know exactly what we need and are extremely generous. Thank you Leah to you and all your families. Tonight we had our good friends Tanya and David Vanags come down on site to help us hand out an early Christmas present to all patrons. Thanks to their very kind donation, donation from Penrith Council and all our amazing supporters who pledged a hamper, the patrons loved their new backpacks full of goodies. Some items from the back packs have been left out to wrap separately so that on Christmas Day each patron will receive another gift. Love this time of year. The site was full of PIF green tonight and loved watching everyone pull out and go through all their goodies. A few of our regulars not there tonight have had theirs put aside for next time we catch up. PIF has received some very generous donations recently and takes pride in the fact that every cent received is spent on the patrons. We work very hard to ensure that we can supply items of both necessity and comfort. We are very frugal with these donations and love seeing how far we can stretch a dollar. Ensuring we can provide service to our homeless friends for many years to come. We are constantly looking at ways to improve their lives or by just showing them that they are important. We would love to hear of any other ideas we can do this so please feel free to PM Gen with your ideas. Food went quickly and many patrons stayed around for a cuppa with the vinnies van while going through the clothes we took out. With the dishes now done its time to go and wrap some more gifts.
