Sunday morning,I went to a local church with John Heflin and that morning will never be forgotten. I found myself in tears when my hand, almost of its own accord, raised when they said “everyone bow your heads, close your eyes, and now if you know that you are missing Jesus in your life raise your hand, and step forward and stand before us all.” I then walked past everyone and up to the podium where a few other men joined me and I can’t explain the feelings that came over me. The whole time this little girl had been looking at my uniform and kept trying to ask me about different parts of it and the awards I have received. After the service was over, she was next to me and she gave me a hug and said she hoped I was crying happy tears. She reminded me so much of Isabella that I bent down and asked which ribbon was her favorite and I ended up giving her my “commendation” ribbon Nick Sheffron
