Sunday morning in Whiteheads Creek is a wet one. I went to bed - TopicsExpress

Sunday morning in Whiteheads Creek is a wet one. I went to bed SUPER EARLY last night....started to feel ill after dinner so I hugged my pillow......a particularly loud clap of thunder woke me at approx. 2.00 am (which is the time I normally go to bed) accompanied by the brightest flash of lightning that lit up the whole sky outside my bedroom window. It woke John and Gabby up too. I couldnt go back to sleep properly after that at all and have been awake pretty much ever since trying to get back to sleep. I finally drifted off at daybreak for a couple of hours to have John wake me up to tell me that our friend Jeff was going to drop in a couple of watermelons on his way through to Gisborne. I love watermelon so I was very grateful for this gift. John is now cooking me and Gabby an egg and bacon roll for brekkie which I am looking forward to. I didnt manage to eat much of my tea last night and my tummy is rumbling a little. The rain came with some ferocity in the wee hours of this morning and it continued up until just a few minutes ago only just starting to ease off now and the mist is clearing off the hills. I think we still have more of the wet stuff to come because the air is still quite humid inside and out. This downpour is very welcome to me even if it does interfere with my plans for being outside today. I hope everyone is enjoying a lovely Sunday. :)
