Sunday night rant >>> This is not aimed at the teachers But The education system and unions >> To me it seems it now has an unhealthy concerned with making money and pissing each other off at a cost to us parents ,,,, Example you can and will be fined for taking your child out off school for a holiday in term time , but your welcome too pay for your child to go on a holiday with the school during term ( my kids have been on them, their for fun education ) But Im ok with that their MY kids I get to chose, Now With these increases in strikes, I wonder if we can now fine the schools ?? I think we have more reasons to be upset, face it They get an easier day when we take our kids out for a few days, But when they do it We actually suffer financially, the parents that work lose money from days off, or from having to paying for daycare while they work. Theyll tell us Quite Strongly about how damaging it is to our childs future missing school and charge you accordingly ! and in the same breath then tell us the date off their next strike,, Cant teachers strike on weekends? Wouldnt they get more support from us parents if they did ? As a union leader thats the days Id pick, your not even harming the school where it hurt (In the pocket ) when u strike, and your defiantly not gaining sympathy Or support from parents when your costing us money.. Wkend strikes may Be better for you, you May even get Parents joining you on mass Now this is a semi irrelevant post for me anyhow , due to the fact I keep my children level headed about life so they see the big picture, and schools is not a big part off our big picture, Education Yes, they need to tick that box ! But For me Inspiration is more important than education, My kids being rewarded for being parrots ( being able to write down and repeat what the theyve just heard ), is not a quality they need in my view, The only quality I expect them to gain from school is the ability to learn, and the sensibility to question everything theyve learnt, and how to interact with other People Yes The basics are important > Reading an a writing. Not necessarily spelling hah,, *Spell check* just spelt Necessarily for me )! Yes lets not produce people who cant explain them selves in an educated way, But Past a certain point off responsibility I think schools are more interested in their next £££s more than the kids/students life ,,, *Just another brick in the wall* Summary ,, send the school a bill for loss of earnings when they strike next, and remind them off the reminder they give us about the danger to our childrens education when they miss lessons that cant be caught up, keep your kids eyes open to the important things in life, Being an individual with inspiration and motivation, being helpful and a conscious person, If They chose education uni is waiting for them
