Sunday sermon. . It is Easter Sunday, time for resurrection thinking. I am one of those that pre ordered Samsung galaxy S5, I love the galaxy family. I have been using it from the first generation to the current generation. If not for the unification decree, Nigeria wire and cable plc established by old western region will be holding the largest share of cell phone market in Nigeria today. While the duo of Korean company LG and Samsung will have to compete with the American trio of Apple, BlackBerry and Motorola for the crumble left behind by the Yoruba company. Since the unification decree, every industry in Yorubaland has been bleeding to death. Rather than evolving like their counterparts across the globe, they are going down with the Nigeria factor. Today our partially own Julius berger should be competing with Halliburton and slumberger in the oil field, rather they are shrinking and getting worse. GE in America evolved from electricity to household appliances to aviation to bank and now in oil sector, but our Nestlé franchise is now selling pure water to keep their account balance. What happened to our Dunlop? Rather than evolving to produce long lasting roofing tiles that is better and cheaper than aluminum and iron roofing sheet, they went bankrupt and move to Ghana. . Rather than Eleganza to evolve to fiberglass and production of electronic plastics, car plastics part, they moved backward to produce pure water and bread nylon. Today Premier hotel should be our holiday inn, spreading the name brand across the nation and Africa, unfortunately they cant manage one branch. They should have been the company to acquire the Yoruba states hotel when they were in distress, like gateway hotels and Owena hotels. But they are looking for someone else to rescue them. Even the nation NITEL cant move beyond 400000 subscribers line with free license, rather they went offline when they should be leading the market in triple play. Where is Iwopin pulp and paper mill? Our WNTV should be the best cable TV provider, but since federal government took over, hardly u can see NTA Ibadan in Ijebu-Ode. The story goes on and on. As we celebrate easter today, we should not just celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but should reflect on how to resurrect our dying civilization. Yoruba are the greatest victim of one Nigeria, the reason why 80% of youths below the age of 30 are unemployed and will never gain meaningful employment is what I explain above. Unless we join hands together to rebuild our Yoruba nation from scratch, either as an autonomous region within the federation of Nigeria or as a sovereign Yoruba federation, the story will remain the same. If you are Yoruba below the age of 30, join the call for Yoruba federation, that is the only option to guarantee a better future for you and your children. The resurrection time is now, or keep living in the grave of Nigeria. Happy Easter.
