Sunday with Huggies: First off to the 7 people who got saved/turned their lives more towards Christ in my youth group. Im so happy for you guys in making that key decision and I pray that God will light that fire under you and you will keep holding onto the faith regardless of what life throws at you. :) Moving on: Today in church we talked about temptation. Heres the verse: When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. (James 1:13, 14 NIV) I have TERRIBLE time with this. Now to set something straight is temptation a sin? Nope! Because if you read about Jesus life you see he was tempted in every way imaginable and then some and Jesus still remained sinless. Where sin comes in is when we actually GIVE IN to temptation and when we GIVE IN to those earthly desires that ALL are born with. That is when we sin. Bad news: It is gonna happen guys. I 100% guarantee you, you will be tempted and sometimes you are gonna give in to that temptation. Good news: we dont have to wait until we go home to heaven, or until Jesus comes for is to conquer temptation. We can beat that here and now. And (as I have said so many times before) the only way you can effectively combat that temptation is Christ and only in Christ alone. Then, after (temptation) has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. (James 1:15 NIV) Thanks for reading! Anyway, I hope these messages help you out.
