Sunday worship: 10:30am: “Basic Question: Why Is Bethany Here?” is the title of Rev. Rodkeys spoken word. Come listen, learn and join in with songs and prayers. CONGREGATIONAL ANNUAL MEETING and POTLUCK will be after church THIS SUNDAY, January 25. Please plan to stay for this very important gathering to hear about 2014, and plans for 2015. We need all of you! And bring something yummy to share at the potluck! Gifts and Talents Show and Potluck Sunday February 8th After Church Anyone who is interested in sharing their talents or gifts with Bethany please sign up because we would love to see to see what you have to share. This event is for those who have talents they wish to share on stage and also for those who have a special hobby or craft that they would love to share with us. We will also be hosting a potluck to add to the event. Do you have any musical or theatrical talents? Do you practice martial arts or some other sport that you could demonstrate? Do you knit or crochet or quilt? Do you work with wood or metal? We would love to see your crafts. If your talent cant be shared at Bethany, a photo display would be much welcomed. This is an opportunity for all of us to get to know one another and to share or special gifts and talents. Erika Coston and Ruth Crea will be helping to organize and MC the event. Please sign up and let us know what you are planning to share whether you are planning to perform or bringing something in to share so that we can help organize this event. Events should be limited to 10 minutes. 2015 Eastern Washington Legislative Conference from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31, at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th Ave. Leaders of faith and nonprofit organizations will share information on issues before the 2015 Washington State Legislature and why they are involved in advocacy. CHOIR practice will resume Wednesday, Feb 11, 5:00-6:00PM. Bethanys Youth are planning a Tubing trip at Bear Creek Lodge on Sunday February 15th after church, and would like to invite everyone to join in on the fun! After tubing we will gather in this amazing historic lodge for chili and hot chocolate or whatever special you might want to have to help warm your soul. It is a great place to just relax, sit by the fire, and visit with friends. It will be a great time for connection and fun. All of Bethanys fabulous members are invited to join us. This adventure is not just for youth! All are welcome! We will also be blessed to have Paul drive us up the mountain in the church van and we will find ways to car pool if the van fills up. Paul will also be willing to share some historical and interesting facts about this most interesting lodge and tubing hill. The cost is $16.31. Release of Liability forms will also need to be filled out. The tubing session at Bear Creek Lodge goes from 1:30-3:00, and we will need to prepay and make reservations for our group. There will be a sign up sheet and liability forms in the Sanctuary to fill out for everyone who wishes to attend. Please attach a check for $16.31 made out to Bethany Presbyterian Church or staple cash in an envelope to the release form by no later than Sunday, February 8th. Reservations need to be made finalized and paid for at least a week in advance. Right now I have reserved 10 spaces for 10 participants. If you know you are interested, please get your money and release forms to me as soon as possible to guarantee that you will be able to participate. The Bethany Womens Book Group We decided on One Summer: America, 1927 by Bill Bryson. We will get together to discuss the book on Tuesday, Feb. 24th at 6:00 pm at Forza in the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center. Also highly recommended was The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion by Fannie Flagg. If you are so inclined, feel free to read it and we’ll talk about it too!
