Fabio Borini of Liverpool is set to sign on loan for the season after seeing his first team chances under Brendan Rodgers limited. Pecking order The Italian has went further down the pecking order after his club signed Chelsea’s Victor Moses on loan, who plays in the same position as Borini, just behind the striker. Borini will get more chances under fellow Italian Paolo Di Canio at Sunderland after a terrible, injury filled season last time round. The 22-year-old signed from Roma last summer but has failed to live up to expectations. Signings Sunderland has also bagged Vito Mannone, Ondrej Celustka, Modibo Diakite, Valentin Roberge, Cabral, Ki, David Moberg Karlsson, Charis Mavrias, Emanuele Giaccherini, Elhadji Ba, Jozy Altidore and Duncan Watmore so far this summer. Titus Bramble, Matt Kilgallon, Simon Mignolet, Ahmed Elmohamady, Danny Graham and Alfred N’Diaye have all being axed from the Sunderland squad while Lee Cattermole and Phil Bardsley remain outcasts. Di Canio has lost two of his first three games in charge this season and will hope that Borini will establish himself into the Sunderland side and help propel them up the Premier League table.
