Sunzu Back at Mazembe ZAMBIAN defender Stopilla Sunzu back is at TP Mazembe after ending his stand-off with the DR Congo club. Mazembe confirmed in a statement on their official website that the 24-year-old has since returned to Lubumbashi after a six-month self-imposed exile after vowing to leave in search of greener pastures in Europe. “Sunzu is back to Mazembe,” Mazembe boss Moise Katumbi stated on the clubs website. “He have for the moment given up his desire to play in Europe. “His intention is to finish his contract with us that still binds him for three years.” Sunzu, who joined Mazembe in 2010, was courted by Sunderland and Reading just after Zambia’s exit from 2013 Africa Cup in January but both deal’s fell through. The defender has struggled with a knee injury for half of this year before undergoing minor surgery on May 10 in Lusaka. That operation saw Sunzu miss Zambia’s 2014 World Cup Group D qualifiers against Lesotho and Sudan in June despite reporting for training camp in Ndola where he continued his rehabilitation under the close supervision of the Chipolopolo medical team.
