Super Bowl weekend!! A food lovers dream and a nutritional makeovers nightmare ... Or is it? After boot camps this week I brought up to Slimpossible participants the temptations that they might face this weekend, and ENCOURAGED them to cheat in moderationbut be prepared to work a little harder to off set those cheats. I am not trying to sabotage them to then say see, I told you buffalo wings were bad for you. Self sabotage is difficult enough to deal with much less their trainer sabotaging them. If indulgences are not satisfied once in a while (in a limited way) when making a lifestyle change, falling off the wagon is inevitable and the wagon may get so far of ahead that even sprinting to catch it and get back on said wagon seems impossible. Cheating SLIGHTLY eases the pressure of the nutritional changes that these boot campers are making. As I review their food journals, I am impressed with the diligence that MOST of them are showing (ahem, I will not name the names of those who have yet to show due diligence, but you know who you are... TIME TO CLEAN IT UP!) The group was stymied once again on the exercise opportunities with their trainer due to the weather this week... Only 2 of the 4 boot camps were available, so extra exercise homework was assigned so participants would get their 3 hours of exercise this week. Boot camps jumped from 45 minutes to an hour, and once again I think I notched up the difficulty level of the circuits. These boot campers have a so much heart!! That doesnt mean they arent quietly cursing me out during the boot camps . Sometimes the hateful glances from their eyes rival those a newly licensed sixteen year old gives his mother for taking away the car keys as punishment for a speeding ticket. :-)) HOWEVER, progress is being made... Some quotes from the week: Sara: I have lost 12 pounds and TWO pants sizes Veronica I can see the changes in how I look in the mirror even though the scales isnt moving much Aaron I can feel in my core that I am stronger. (and after a few round of circuits he asked where did our nice Julie go?) Hmmmm...good question. Exercise nutritional diligence this weekend, boot campers. I have the utmost faith you will prevail over wings, dips, chips, etc and hit the veggies tray hard!! One meal at a time, one workout at a time, one Super Bowl day at a time. Go Broncos!
