Super proud Mama moment last night. I actually had to choke back - TopicsExpress

Super proud Mama moment last night. I actually had to choke back the tears. So, we were at the arcade/games area of Mt. Olympus, and Taylor was playing at one of those games that are filled up with prizes and you have to position the mechanical claw over you target and hope that it picks up. Well, it was sooooo funny (Ill post pics).....Taylor managed to grab this stuffed monkey, but its long legs were left curled around the edge and it was hanging upside down (down the dispense chute)....if ANYONE could manage what happened next, its TAYLOR!....she got ANOTHER monkey, and 1 mili-second before it would have landed, the small velcro tip on the hand of the monkey attached to the other monkey that was dangling! OMG! We were dying laughing. Now, JD enters the scene and we are ALL (yes, even me) were invested in winning these ridiculous monkeys! They were OURS!!!! bahahaha!!! I even shook the darn machine (through tears of laughter)! Then, around the corner comes a family: A 5(ish) year old girl and the Dad (who was pushing a stroller with a 2(ish) year old girl who had tubes everywhere. The little infant had some serious medical issues and my heart went out to this wonderful family. We backed off (OUR) machine to let the 5year old try. I brought the little girl around to the side of the machine so that she could see the funny scenario...and I told her, If you play it right, you might get Two For One with those monkeys! She tried 3 times, and then the Dad told her they had to go. You could just see her sad eyes. My kids jumped right back in front of the machine after waiting patiently, but this time, JD actually got down on his knees and shoved his arm UP the dispense chute and managed to grab the monkeys foot and yank it free. Imagine the triumph they must have felt! THEY DID IT! What did my kids do? Taylor leaned over and whispered something to JD....and without hesitation, JD turned to the 5year old and handed the monkey. She lit up like a Christmas Tree.....the dad says, For her? Really?? and then the Pay-It-Forward moment continued as the 5year old turned to her disabled sister who was confined to tubes and a chair and she handed her the monkey!!!! The look on that little toddlers face was something I will remember forever!!!!!! What a moment. I had to choke back tears and walk away so I didnt embarrass my kids. xoxoxoxo
