Support Roles Behind every successful minutemen outfit, team, or operation, there invariably must be a support element in place. Whether lugging an extra crate of medical supplies, operating a video camera, or grilling some burgers or brats, these support folks make the difference between a decent training event and an excellent training event. Without such fine support teams, membership and morale would decline. By no means should support persons be considered second-line or anything of the sort. In an actual emergency, it is likely that support functions, such as medical duties, communications, and transport duties, and other fun logistical efforts will be the true measure of minutemen effectiveness. There are three levels of support functions. Basic or noncombatant, Advanced (Enlisted support roles) and Critical (Officers support roles). Basic roles consist of simple but essential tasks like gathering wood or water, acting as OpFor or victims during training as well as assisting the cooks or medical staff and providing administrative assistance. If a basic support member qualifies with a weapon then they can provide rear area security and provide security for families that are required to bug out. Advanced support consists of Cook, Field Medic, Field Communication, Transportation, Supply, Computer Techs and Mechanics. These positions require Level 1 qualification minimum. Critical support roles consist of Nurses, Doctors, Chaplains, Intelligence Analyst, Communications Officer / PAO and Support Officer. These Positions require a Minimum Level 1 qualification.
