Support the candidate who supports the LGBT Community. Nan Rich is the former Florida State Senator and representative who was the primary sponsor (other legislators were co-sponsors of her bills) on most pro-LGBT legislation in the Florida Legislature from 2000 to 2012. She filed bills for LGBT adoption, protection in the workplace, hiring, housing and service, as well as domestic Partnership. From 2011-2012 she was the Florida Senate Democratic Minority Leader. She has done more as an elected official in support of LGBT rights than any other elected official in Florida. She is the mother of Laurie Rich Levinson, who was the chair of the Broward County School Board when it became the first school board in the nation to recognize LGBT History Month in October 2012, as well as National Coming Out Day.
