Supreme court based on a petition filed, cancelled 122 2g licenses and gave a judgement that all the natural resources to be sold by competitive bidding. The first one to place the petition is Loksatta. Even BJP took time to join along. Right to Information Act (1997 - 2005): Lok Sattas research, advocacy and citizens campaign efforts in collaboration with other leading civil society organizations MKSS and NCPRTI helped achieve a comprehensive and universal right to access public information, in June 2005. Establishment of Local Courts (1997-2005): Lok Sattas advocacy campaign for establishment of Local Courts with simple procedures has led the Indian Government to announce the tabling of a bill in the Winter Session of 2005, to this effect. Citizens Charters in Andhra Pradesh (1997-2001): Lok Satta launched the Swarajya movement in 1998 to empower citizens by prompting authorities to provide improved public service. This movement led to the establishment of 700 citizen charters in various government departments in the country. Post Offices as Nodal Agencies (1998 - 2004): Following six-year long advocacy campaign by Lok Satta, the Election Commission has agreed to make over 150,000 post offices across the country the nodal agencies for ensuring citizen-friendly and permanent access to electoral rolls. Candidate Disclosures - Supreme Court Judgment (1999-2003): The Supreme Court of India upheld Lok Sattas (and co-petitioners PUCL and ADR) contention and ruled that all candidates for legislative offices in India should file a sworn statement disclosing their criminal and financial antecedents. Political Funding Reform (1997-2003): Lok Satta effectively lobbied with the government and major political parties for political funding reform providing for disclosure, tax incentives and free broadcast time in media. A progressive law to this effect was enacted in September 2003 in the Parliament. The Election Watch programme (1998-present): The Delhi High Court judgment of Nov. 2000 directing the Election Commission to collect and disclose criminal records of candidates to the public was based on Lok Satta’s election watch campaign and documentation of candidates profile in 1999. Enabling Cooperative Law (1997-2004): In collaboration with CDF, Lok Satta ensured passing of an enabling law benefiting 65,000 organizations across the state. These efforts have prompted the Union Government to draft a constitutional amendment towards ensuring free functioning of the cooperatives. Procedural Improvements in Indirect Taxes: Lok Satta has collaborated with the Central Vigilance Commission and the Indian Finance Ministry to transform procedures in indirect tax administration which until then was a source of extortion and a great obstacle to small and medium entrepreneurs. Now my question is.. What did AK and his leaders done till now..? Don’t say Janlokpal, Loksatta was also part of the team. Now tell me why should LSP merge with AAP who is not having proper road map ready yet..
