Surah Lail Part 2: -This surah starts with series of oaths- it allows us to reflect on the oaths. Then, Allah (swt) is giving the thesis of the surah. **************************************************** THESIS of the Surah: Al-Lail : 4 إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتّٰى Indeed, your efforts are diverse. Allah (swt) is saying that he is in the complete ownership. And, those who do good deeds will expect goodness from akhira even if he face trials in this dunya.And, this is how we comfort people when they are facing trials. While, the ones who do bad deeds will be facing trials both in this dunya and akhira. **************************************************** Al-Lail : 15 لَا يَصْلٰىهَآ إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. -Why Allah is saying like this? Allah saying that we might be fall into the group of being wretched ppl , so we should better check ourselves **************************************************** Al-Lail : 17 وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى But the righteous one will avoid it - And, Allah (swt) is saying beautifully that the righteous ones will be very far from it. Because, Allah has also mentioned that the group of ppl of hellfire will cry to grant death when he reached the proximity of hellfire and not even before reaching the hellfire. The incurring theme: Wealth: -It is okay to be wealthy -However, it should not fill your heart. -When , Alllah(swt) speaks about wretched ppl, he states, they are the ones whose heart is filled with love of wealth -It is also possible to be wealthy in this dunya and akhira. However, your bigger concern should be in regards with being wealthy in Akhira. If that, is not the case, you can be one of those wretched ppl. ******************************************************* Al-Lail : 1 وَالَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشٰى By the night when it covers -The objects are not mentioned. -It is because Allah(swt) is forcing us to think, in order for us to be ppl of thought. -Allah(swt) says figure it yourself from reading the previous surah. *************************************************** Al-Lail : 2 وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلّٰى And [by] the day when it appears Another commentary by the scholars: Darkness mentioned as kuffar while day mentioned as something of eeman/revelation. The revelations get rid of the Kuffar like how day removes the night. It takes alot of time for night to creep out. However , day will appear instantly even if there is a bit of light. Corruption does not appear instantly. It takes some time. And , we know the effect of revelation of Prophet Muhammad SAW took only 23 years. And , we know by learning history that : 23 years -it is almost impossible for complete change of manifestation in terms of socially , politically , likes of ppl. ***************************************************** Al-Lail : 3 وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثٰىٓ And [by] He who created the male and female, Ma-to indicate how incredible powerful. Male & Female: -Allah(swt) creates everything in pairs. Like day & night . -it is a mercy from Allah on how Allah created us pairs. As each gender has its own advantages and disadvantages. -The world is paired up with akhira- We need to work hard in this dunya to be happy in Akhira **************************************************** Al-Lail : 4 إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتّٰى Indeed, your efforts are diverse. Sayakakum: -Pacing towards something. Like, how someone pace towards meeting , meaning that they are not running or walking but just pacing towards something important. Lashatta: -Indicating muslims - We, humans are doing different things athough we have been created as one humanity. Meaning that we have been created for one purpose. -Allah(swt) is saying be patient with even the ones who harms you or islam. The reason is that Allah(swt) is saying that their efforts are different and it is all in Allahs plan. Lashatta is also plural form lashatit: -broken pieces -like how things were orginally together and broken into pieces ,just like how humanity was one at a time and then spitted -It is also interesting to take note that this splitting takes place even during our adam(as) and our mother eve time. --And, how the day is being plucked out from night by humans.- the reason is that we,humans make use of the day time.
