Suresh Raina and Ishant Sharma were forced outdoors after finding that there was no vegetarian preparations on the menu. Indias tour of Australia reached a souring point on the third day of the Brisbane Test after the visiting team management complained about the lack of proper vegetarian food for some members of the team. Pace bowler, Ishant Sharma, and batsman, Suresh Raina, were forced to leave Gabba during lunch on the third day, after finding that there were no vegetarian preparation in the menu. The team management is said to be apparently unhappy over the food provided ever since they landed Down Under. The team was said to be very unhappy with the food provided during their practice matches at the Glenelg Oval in Adelaide, but didnt make their reservations public as Australia was mourning the demise of batsman, Phillip Hughes. Taking note of their complaints, South Australia Cricket Association (SACA) arranged an Indian chef to prepare food for the visitors during the first Test. But things have turned for the worse in Brisbane. On the third day, proper vegetarian lunch wasnt provided to the team, as was noticed in the media room as well. Two Indian players, Ishant Sharma and Suresh Raina, complained about the same, and left the ground in order to find food for themselves. They were accompanied by Ravi Shastri, the director of cricket, and an International Cricket Councils (ICC) Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) personnel. However, on coming back, they were informed that they couldnt carry food and beverages inside the ground, forcing them to finish their food sitting outside, before returning back to the dressing room. Raina wasnt part of the playing eleven but Ishant did bowl on the third afternoon.
