Surgery went really well and I was even told I was a good patient - TopicsExpress

Surgery went really well and I was even told I was a good patient by the staff. Really! If you read this, please read or skip to end for best part. Ok, I never post negative status updates & instruct my kids as well (Saturday was an exception cuz I thought the shitty pun was funny), but this story is so unbelievable I need to post. Started with Saturdays pipe breaking & my beloved Redbirds falling to ND, then cleansing while calling insurance & having to ask for help - Keith to bring shop vac to me & pickup more fans (who has bad knees), then Tom using shop vac (who had hand surgery last week), adjuster coming Monday to assess damage on Monday (surgery day in Peoria), asking Keith to meet them for me cuz he wasnt working & carpet wasnt drying, then he got stuck on way to my house having to be towed, get to hospital having to be tested for MRSA cuz Ive had it a lot the past year, this putting me in isolation & making everyone around me wear gloves & gowns, waiting many hours in ICU due to an emergency that needed to take my room (totally understandable), then they start cleaning my new room & have to quit for another emergency to clean another room, so we order food & an hour later hasnt arrived (side note I havent ate for 3 days now), finding out they didnt bring it since my nurse didnt order a graduated meal first w it (she didnt cuz I had been in ICU post op at this time for 4 hours - didnt need it!), then they told her they didnt call cuz they didnt have the # to ICU and that they figured shed call again - OMG!, top it off everyone waiting for me and I inconvenienced THE whole ICU staff because I had to have my own nurse b/c of the MRSA. By this time my happy nurse was not happy due to the food cuz they were even not going to let me have a meal cuz kitchen closes at 8pm then goes into lite meal/snack mode, needless to say the other nurses didnt look happy when I left cuz they were literally down one nurse. Silver linings: I got to see my kids & family at 8pm 😊, eat tilapia, my whole medical staff from pre-op to post op to hospital room have been great, I had my own personal nurse to talk to the whole time (everyone knows I like to talk), I am not experiencing pain just discomfort & took Motrin, woke up real good & hardly any nausea (Im a hard to wake up patient worrying my drs @ myself), Im in a warm bed watching ohio state hopefully beat Oregon cuz ohio won against my sons Alabama which he has loved ever since we have been going to Gulf Shores on spring break at age 4-5, and saving best for last --- I have the best family & friends always by my pain in the ass side. I love you all and owe you so much!!! 😘💋
