Suriname (CARICOM) was the First Speaker at the Opening of the 7th Annual Retreat by the African Permanent Representatives in New York and brought a special message of SOLIDARITY , stressing that the systematic and regular involvement of both regional groups should be recognized, since we are leading the historical process on the determination of the international development agenda beyond 2015. The 68 th General Assembly of the United Nations with its overall theme the Post 2015 Development Agenda Setting the Stage, is currently being headed by H.E. Ambassador John Ashe (from Anitgua and Barbuda), while Uganda will take over the helm in September and lead the process till the end. The Caribbean being the unofficial sixth region of Africa is consequently pleased to join in camaraderie with the African Group in drafting the development scheme of the world for the next 15 years......HMD
