Surrogacy Australia respects the importance of new laws to better - TopicsExpress

Surrogacy Australia respects the importance of new laws to better regulate Thai surrogacy and align practice with existing guidelines of the Thai Medical Council. This will ensure that clinics are better regulated and the community has improved confidence in Thailand’s IVF practices. In relation to the many current surrogacy arrangements entered before the passing of new laws, Thai agencies assure us that the care of currently pregnant surrogates is their primary priority. They are going to extraordinary lengths to deliver that care in a difficult political environment. We would hope that neither Thai surrogates nor innocent Australian infants are penalised as the transition to better practice occurs. We are confident that the Thai government will allow the safe passage home of newborn infants awarded Australian citizenship We are now working with a number of government departments to assist in ensuring safe exit over the next nine months for scores of long-awaited, much loved newborns. In regard to frozen embryos currently in Thailand, if you would like them relocated to another country, there are shipping companies who can assist. You will need to check the paperwork requirements and rules for destination countries. If you embryos are not currently accessible, please be patient as we work with authorities to work out a solution If you are currently engaged in surrogacy in Thailand or have any frozen gametes and would like assistance with your situation please contact either Rachel or Sam on the details provided [email protected] or [email protected]
